Improving the Modified Universal Soil Loss Equation by Physical Interpretation of Its Factors

چکیده

A primary objective of this paper is to change the input data requirement Modified Universal Soil Loss Equation (MUSLE) for calculation its runoff factor possible application in data-scarce areas. Basically, MUSLE was developed a small agricultural watershed, where extent erosion from sheet rill erosion, but we cannot exactly tell whether it considers gully or not. The underlying physical assumption improve that amount potential energy proportional shear stress sediment transport slope field and kinetic at bottom formation. improved tested four watersheds Ethiopia, showed better performance (i.e., minimum 84%) over original 80%), all under our consideration. We expect same be true other Ethiopia.

A nonparametric/parametric analysis of the Universal Soil Loss Equation

Due to its modest data demands and transparent model structure, the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) remains the most popular tool for water erosion hazard assessment. However, the model has several shortcomings, two of which are likely to have prominent implications for the model results. First, the mathematical form of the USLE, the multiplication of six factors, easily leads to large erro...

Improving Soil Physical Indicators by Soil Amendment to a Saline-Sodic Soil

The application of organic amendments can be an appropriate solution to reclaim and improve physical propertiesof saline-sodic soils. In this research, an experiment was performed under greenhouse conditions to study the effect ofamendments to the physical properties of loamy saline-sodic soil. The five treatments were control (withoutamendment), municipal solid waste compost (MC), vermicompost...

Water erosion prediction using Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation and GIS: A case study of Gorganrud Basin

Soil erosion and sedimentation processes can be considered as serious eco-environmentalproblems. This study aimed to estimate the basin-wide erosion using the Revised UniversalSoil Loss Equation (RUSLE). The soil erosion parameters included rainfall erosivity mapgenerated from the rainfall data, soil erodibility extracted from the soil map, land cover andmanagement map produced from supervised ...

Assessing the applicability of the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) to Irish Catchments

Elevated suspended sediment concentrations in fluvial environments have important implications for system ecology and even small concentrations may have serious consequences for sensitive ecosystems or organisms, such as freshwater pearl mussels (Margaritifera margaritifera). Informed decision making is therefore required for land managers to understand and control soil erosion and sediment del...
